Newmarket’s Junior B footballers played host to Rockchapel in Round 1 of the Duhallow championship, on Sunday the 5th of September.
Newmarket Premier Intermediate Footballers got there 2016 campaign under way with strong win over neighbours Rockchapel in the first round of the Tom Creedon Cup.
Newmarket went down to a sharper more clinical Rockchapel team in the Duhallow Cup Final played in ideal conditions, in front of a sizeable crowd at Knocknagree on Sunday afternoon. Rockchapel’s ability to find the net was decisive as they claimed the honours on a 3-10 to 1-10 scoreline.
Newmarket captured the Duhallow Junior B Football Championship title for a second time and were full value for their victory over Rockchapel by 1-9 to 1-6 in the final played in blustery conditions at Boherbue on Sunday afternoon.
Newmarket, despite defeat, put in a very commendable performance away to Rockchapel in the Ducon Cup on Tuesday evening, where the home side emerged with victory from a high scoring contest by 1-16 to 1-10.
A point in injury time denied Newmarket and edged Rockchapel to victory in a gripping, exciting, entertaining Duhallow Junior B Football Championship Final played in monsoon conditions at Rockchapel on Sunday afternoon, with the home team emerging champions on a 1-7 to 0-9 scoreline.
Newmarket’s junior footballers recorded a fine win over Rockchapel in the Ducon Cup game played at Rockchapel on Saturday by 2-6 to 0-10.
Newmarket suffered their first defeat in their third outing of this year’s Ducon Cup at home to Rockchapel on Tuesday evening by 1-12 to 1-6.

Newmarket were pipped at the death by Rockchapel in a very tight contest, by 0-8 to 0-7 in the semi final of the Ducon Cup played in splendid sunshine at Kiskeam on Sunday evening. In hindsight Newmarket will look back and rue a number of scoring opportunities that went to waste.
Newmarket travelled to Rockchapel on Saturday, for their first outing in this years Ducon Cup, with the home side emerging victorious by 3-7 to 1-10.

Newmarket resist late surge by Rockchapel
NEWMARKET qualified to meet Kanturk or Millstreet in the Duhallow junior football final when they overcame a great challenge from Rockchapel in a semi-final that provided a fine standard of football and non-stop excitement at Kanturk on Sunday.
