Newmarket played Millstreet in their most recent outing in the Ducon Cup at Dromtariffe on Saturday where they ended up defeated by 3-10 to 3-4 on a sun drenched afternoon.
A youthful and depleted Newmarket team exited the Duhallow under 21 hurling championship when they endured a 3-13 to 1-8 defeat away to Millstreet on Saturday evening.

Two weeks ago the boys won against Millstreet in the B final after some late goals. This Sunday it took extra time to separate the teams, Newmarket running out victorious on a scoreline of 3-18 to 5-11. Congratulations to all the boys, their mentors and families. After the heroics of Tuesday night the Newmarket boys now had to face Millstreet on a cold Friday evening in Millstreet under lights. Match started evenly enough with Newmarket going ahead first from an Ian Flanagan Point. It was pretty much even after that in the first half with Millstreet finishing perhaps the stronger side at half time. Millstreet hitting the post and had the ball cleared off the line by Brendan stack in a few shaky moments for the Newmarket team.
