O’Leary salvages a draw with late point

A point with the final kick of the contest from centre half back, Barry O’Leary salvaged a draw and a fitting result for Newmarket against Ballinora at the latters venue in splendid sunshine on Monday in their latest intermediate league game, the final result reading 2-10 to 1-13.

Newmarket record facile victory in intermediate football league

Newmarket overwhelmed a hugely disappointing Youghal side in the intermediate football league played at Mourne Abbey on Tuesday evening, recording a mammouth 3-19 to 1-1 victory.

Impressive win for young intermediate team

Newmarket’s intermediate footballers recorded a fine victory when they defeated near neighbours Kiskeam by 1-13 to 1-10 in the first round of the Evening Echo Premier Intermediate Football Championship played before a large attendance on a fine Spring day in Kanturk last Sunday.

Late comeback falls short

Newmarket’s intermediate footballers completed their preparations for next Sunday’s championship encounter with Kiskeam, by suffering their first league defeat, away to Clyda Rovers at Mourne Abbey last Sunday by 0-10 to 0-8, after a fine late comeback.

Newmarket defeated in Premier Intermediate football championship

Newmarket bowed out of this years Premier Intermediate football championship when they were defeated by Glanmire 1-15 to 3-5, in an exciting contest at a Ballyclough venue that survived severe thunder showers for hours before the game.
