Footballers advance over Kiskeam

The sun shone brilliantly on our intermediate footballers at an overcast Boherbue on Sunday last when the Kiskeam challenge was well and truly overwhelmed on a 2-13 to 0-8 scoreline.

Footballers lose out

The intermediate footballers travelled to Bantry on Sunday afternoon and ended up on the wrong side of a three point defeat, 2-8 to 0-11 having trailed at half time by 2-2 to 0-5.

Footballers defeated in league

Despite the benefit of two early first half goals, Newmarket went down to defeat by four points, 1-11 to 2-4 against Clyda Rovers in a Division 2 Football League encounter played at Mourne Abbey on Tuesday night.

Intermediate footballers begin season impressively

PIFC, twelve months on

Twelve months ago today, the Newmarket footballers entered the history books by winning the Premier Intermediate Football Championship at Páirc Uí Chaoimh.

Since then, the team has secured senior status and topped division 3, with the league final still to be played.

Newmarket just fall short

A typically determined and committed Newmarket display just fell short as Kerry champions Milltown Castlemaine emerged victorious with three points to spare, 1-9 to 1-6 in the Munster Intermediate Football Championship semi final played before a huge attendance, on a grey November, afternoon at the Mallow GAA Sports Complex.

Newmarket march into Munster

Newmarket open their Munster Intermediate Football Championship campaign this Sunday in Mallow against Miltown-Castlemaine of Kerry.
The match, which starts at 2pm, is a Munster semi final, with the winners playing Dungarvan (Waterford) or Mullinahone (Tipperary) for the provincial title.

So it’s time to get the flags out again and show the massive support that the team is accustomed to, as it bids to continue making history.

Newmarket capture the Billy Long Cup for the first time

Newmarket – Cork County Intermediate Football Champions 2011!!!! Over 7,000 spectators witnessed the most momentous, memorable, historic occasion in Newmarket GAA Club in the mecca of Cork GAA, Pairc Ui Chaoimh on a truly unforgettable day, Sunday, October 16th, 2011. Twenty seven heroes and a management trio of the already legendary Danny Culloty, Donal O’Sullivan and Danny Hourigan are etched into folklore forever more. What a momentous day for everybody lucky enough to witness a perfect day as Newmarket captured the Billy Long Cup for the first time and scaled the heights to senior club status on defeating the formidable Clyda Rovers by 3-6 to 1-10.

Intermediates progress to quarter final after impressive first half display
