Lane points the way

An exhibition of point taking and forward play from Newmarket’s outstanding John Lane enabled Newmarket to earn a hard fought home league victory over Glanmire by 0-16 to 0-11 on Saturday evening. The magnificent corner forward recorded a tally of eight points, seven from play and indeed the free was also of high quality finishing.

Two late goals seal win for Newmarket Intermediates

A grandstand finish, which crucially yielded two goals and a point enabled Newmarket to record a fine league win away to Glanmire on Friday evening last with the game ending 2-14 to 0-13 after an open entertaining contest.

Newmarket defeated in Premier Intermediate football championship

Newmarket bowed out of this years Premier Intermediate football championship when they were defeated by Glanmire 1-15 to 3-5, in an exciting contest at a Ballyclough venue that survived severe thunder showers for hours before the game.

Late goal earns draw for Glanmire

A last gasp Glanmire goal deep into injury time, denied Newmarket their first victory in this years Premier Intermediate Football League and earned a draw for the home side, 2-9 to 1-12 in blustery, wintery conditions, at Glanmire on Monday last.
