Newmarket men in the Blood and Bandage

Thursday, June 14th, 2012

Despite a two point defeat for the Cork junior footballers against Kerry in the Munster Semi Final at Páirc Uí Chaoimh on Sunday, it proved to be a historic fixture for Newmarket GAA Club. By the end of the contest, Newmarket had three players on the Cork team while Danny Culloty was involved as a selector. Brian O’Riordan lined out at left corner back while John Lane took his place at left corner forward. As the game entered the final ten minutes, the introduction of John Ryan brought the Newmarket representation to three. Well done to all involved and hopefully all will again grace the red jersey in the near future.
