A last gasp point at the end of extra time enabled Douglas to progress to the semi finals of the Tadhg Crowley Plate, following a 1-8 to 1-7 victory over Newmarket’s senior footballers after a gripping game at Cloughduv last Thursday night.
Newmarket’s senior football championship campaign came to a most disappointing conclusion following an emphatic defeat to Douglas by 2-14 to 0-4 at Mallow in Round 4 of the Evening Echo Championship on Saturday evening.
