Hannon leads Robert Emmets to under 21 final

An outstanding team effort spearheaded by the individual scoring brilliance of ace talisman Donal Hannon, enabled an impressive Robert Emmets defeat St. Marks by 0-19 to 2-9 in the Duhallow under 21 hurling semi final played in ideal conditions at Tullylease on Monday evening, as the team qualified for a second successive Duhallow Final.

Robert Emmets advance to under 21 semi final

Robert Emmets produced a fine display of hurling to defeat Dr. O’Callaghans by 3-14 to 1-11 in the Duhallow under 21 hurling championship, at Kilbrin on Tuesday evening to advance into the semi finals.

Congratulations to Donal Hannon

Congratulations to Donal Hannon who was introduced as an extra time substitute on the Cork minor hurling team that were eventually defeated by Waterford in the Munster Semi Final played at Páirc Uí Rinn last Wednesday night. In doing so, Donal became the first Newmarket player since 1974 to play for the Cork minor hurling team.

Thrilling encounter ends in defeat after extra time

Newmarket’s minor hurlers despite a heroic effort, fell agonisingly short against Eire Og in the County Minor A Hurling League Final played at Coachford on Saturday evening. A titanic struggle went to extra time, in which Newmarket showed commendable skill and spirit to overcome a half time deficit before almost clinching victory towards the end of normal time. The thrilling encounter eventually ended 0-20 to 1-14 in favour of Eire Og.

Robert Emmets fall at final hurdle

A great season for Robert Emmets ended in disappointment when they were defeated by Croke Rovers in the Duhallow under 21 hurling final played in the most trying of conditions at Castlemagner on Saturday afternoon, the victors pulling clear by 0-16 to 0-5.

Late scoring blitz secures title for minor hurlers

An amazing ten minute spell towards the end of the game, that yielded a goal and seven points enabled Newmarket to overturn a three point deficit and claim the North Cork Minor A Hurling League with a final victory over Dromtariffe by 1-17 to 1-11 at Castlemagner on Sunday morning.

Fantastic season ends in semi final defeat
