Newmarket won their 7th Duhallow Under 21 football title in Dromtariffe this evening, overcoming Boherbue on a scoreline of 2-12 to 1-08.

Newmarket recorded their second successive win in this years Ducon Cup after turning in a fine display, especially in the first half, in accounting for Boherbue by 1-13 to 1-5 at sun drenched Newmarket on Sunday afternoon.
The destination of this years Duhallow under 21 football title will have to be resolved on another day as Newmarket and Boherbue played out a draw after a tense, gripping and exciting contest. Played before a large attendance at Dromtariffe on Sunday evening, the sides finished level at 1-10 apiece thanks to a dramatic late Boherbue comeback, which resulted in a late equalizing goal.
Newmarket’s minor footballers left an early second half lead of seven points slip, as they went under to Lyre by 2-8 to 1-9 at Newmarket on Monday evening last.
This Sunday, the Newmarket U21 footballers go in search of the first Duhallow title since 2001. The runners-up from last year face Boherbue in Dromtarriffe at 7:00pm.
