Under 21 County Final

All roads lead to Páirc Uí Rinn on Sunday evening when the Newmarket under 21 football team will create history by participating in the County Under 21 Football Final for the very first time against St. Finbarrs at 7:30pm.

Newmarket are top of the league after latest intermediate win

Newmarket maintained their excellent league form when they defeated Ballingeary in their ninth outing of the year in the intermediate football league at Newmarket on Sunday evening. Newmarket ran out impressive winners by 1-19 to 0-9 and sit on top of the league with fourteen points.

Newmarket under 21 footballers create history

Newmarket’s under 21 footballers created history when they defeated Fermoy in the replayed semi final and thus qualify for the Evening Echo County Under 21 Football Final for the very first time. An impressive all round display ended in a victory of 1-11 to 0-7 at Mallow on Friday evening.

Under 21s into County Final

The Newmarket under 21 football team advanced to the County Final tonight after beating Fermoy in Mallow on a scoreline of 1-11 to 0-07. Having led 0-08 to 0-03 at half time, Newmarket were never behind. They now meet St. Finbarrs in the decider.

Newmarket fell agonisingly short when narrowly defeated by St. Vincent’s in the Evening Echo Premier Intermediate Football Championship semi final game played on a splendid surface at Mallow on Sunday evening by 1-9 to 1-8.

Bodie strikes late to earn draw

A typically sublime point from Newmarket man of the match T.J. Bodie, earned Newmarket’s under 21 footballers a draw, 1-9 to 2-6 against Fermoy in the Evening Echo County Under 21 football semi final played at Mallow’s state of the art GAA grounds on Saturday evening. Newmarket led for fifty minutes, from the fourth minute but were grateful to settle for a draw despite holding a five point lead at the interval.

Late sending off proves crucial in win for under 21 footballers

A storming display in the final ten minutes, when they enjoyed the advantage of an extra man, enabled Newmarket to edge past Carrigaline in the replay of the County under 21 football championship, 0-10 to 1-6 at Donoughmore on Wednesday evening.

Intermediate footballers maintain good league form

Newmarket concluded their preparations for next Saturday’s championship quarter final against Glenville, when they travelled to Brinny on Sunday to take on Valley Rovers and they emerged from the top of the table league contest with a fine victory by 2-11 to 1-7.

Footballers win Dan Casey Memorial Cup

Well done to the Newmarket team that participated in the Dan Casey Memorial Cup, seven a side competition in Kiskeam recently and came away victors. They defeated the home side in the final on a scoreline of 2-12 to 2-09. The panel of players were Kevin O’Connor ( captain), Tadhg O’Sullivan, Kevin O’Sullivan, Bart Daly, Gerard Casey, Timothy Murphy, T.J. Bodie, John Ryan and Maurice Feehan.

Culloty lines out for Cork

O’Leary salvages a draw with late point

A point with the final kick of the contest from centre half back, Barry O’Leary salvaged a draw and a fitting result for Newmarket against Ballinora at the latters venue in splendid sunshine on Monday in their latest intermediate league game, the final result reading 2-10 to 1-13.
