County Final Beckons

The Newmarket footballers are back in the Bon Secours Premier Intermediate final, after a strong performance against the fancied Cill Na Marta side. Heading into the contest in Glantane last Saturday, the Muskerry outfit had yet to lose a match and had defeated all put in front of them by comfortable margins.

Footballers go in search of final spot

The Newmarket footballers head to Glantane on Saturday afternoon at 3pm, with a place in the Bon Secours Premier Intermediate Final up for grabs. Talking on Cill Na Matra, for a place in the competition decider, both sides have had differing paths to semi final.

Na Piarsaigh get the better of Newmarket

The Newmarket footballers must take on Castletownbere in a do or die clash, in the final group game of the Premier Intermediate Football Championship, knowing a win is a must and even a victory may not guarantee progress to the knockout stages. The team find themselves in this position following defeat to Na Piarsaigh on Saturday last, the 25th of September.

Congratulations to Under 15 Hurlers and Under 13 Footballers

Congratulations to the Under 13 footballers who won the North Cork plate, in Dromtarriffe, on Saturday, the 18th of September, beating Doneraile on the day. 
 
Congratulations to the Under 15 hurlers who secured the North Cork U15 Division 2 plate, on Monday, the 20th September. Taking on Croke Rover in Kanturk, the Newmarket side ran out 5-05 to 0-12 winners, on the night.
 
Congratulations to all the players, their families and mentors. Áth Trasna Abú!

Best of luck to Hugh O’Connor

Best of luck to Hugh O’Connor and the rest of the Cork minor team next Wednesday, the 11th August, in the Munster football final against Limerick. The Cork team qualified for the final, having defeated Kerry in the semi final, where Hugh contributed four points to his side’s total.
