Newmarket GAA Club held their annual social before a sizeable attendance at the River Island Hotel, Castleisland, on Saturday February 3rd 2007.
Newmarket GAA Club will be holding a social at the River Island Hotel, Castleisland on Saturday, February 3rd. The successful minor football team that completed a championship and league double will be honoured on the night. Tickets are priced at €30 each and are available from club officers.
All the clubs hurling players are requested to attend a special hurling meeting in the clubs dressing rooms on Friday evening next January 12th at 9pm.
Membership of the club for the coming year is now up for renewal. Membership is priced at €25 for adults and €15 for students. Subscriptions can be paid to any member of the committee.

An open players and club meeting will take place on Friday evening, November 24th at The Field. Players and selectors are asked to attend at 8pm. The public meeting will begin at 9:30pm and is open to all.
The Annual General Meeting of Newmarket GAA Club took place last Sunday at the James O’Keeffe Memorial Institute. Club President Con Collins and outgoing officers Andrew Lynch, Conor O’Sullivan, Neilie McCarthy addressed the meeting and gave their various reports. Juvenile Club Chairman Ollie Dugdale and County Board Delegate Nelius Collins then contributed to proceedings. The minor football team and mentors were congratulated on winning the County Minor A football league title and for completing a Duhallow championship and league double again in 2006. (more…)

Newmarket GAA Club will host a golf classic at Kanturk Golf Club on Friday, September 1st. The entry fee for a team of 3 costs €150 while tee and green sponsorship costs €50.
Well done to Anthony Crowley (hurling), Paul Murphy, Denys O’Brien, David O’Flynn, Tony O’Keeffe, Kevin O’Connor and James Morgan (football) and their involvements in the Duhallow teams who recorded impressive victories in the county championships recently.

First half avalanche of scores scupper Brian Dillons’ hopes in county junior football semi-final replay.
A marvelous first-half display set Newmarket firmly on course for an impressive victory over Brian Dillon’s, the city champions, in the replay of their junior football championship semi-final at Kilmurry on Sunday.
Newmarket took on Meelin in the the Junior A hurling championship on the 20th of July 1968 in Banteer, Meelin advanced on a scoreline of 3-07 to 1-12.
