Junior A Championship return ends in defeat
Newmarket’s return to the Duhallow Junior A Football Championship after a long absence, ended in defeat to Lyre on Sunday morning.
A strong opening half from Lyre gave them a commanding 0-03 to 3-07 lead at the break in Castlemagner. Despite a closer second period, Newmarket had a mountain to climb and lost out 1-07 to 4-14 on the day.
