Big win for hurlers keeps league chances alive
Newmarket travelled to Kilbrin on Friday night last, aiming to increase their chances of qualifying for the league knockout stages.
With two wins out of four, another victory was a must. The first half of the contest was an even affair, with Newmarket narrowly leading at the short whistle, 0-13 to 1-08. In contrast, the away side overran their opponents in the second period, registering 1-13 to Kilbrin’s five points. The resulting 1-26 to 1-13 win moves Newmarket onto 6 points in the table and in a strong position to grab one of the quarter final spots. The final regular season game for Newmarket sees them take on the inform side Millstreet, to decide their league standings.
