The Junior A footballers finished off their league campaign with a defeat away to Castlemagner on Sunday, the 15th of May.

The home side dominated the first half, leading 2-06 to a point at the break, with Daniel Culloty registering Newmarket’s score. Credit to the away side, they continued to battle, with a Colin O’Sullivan brace opening the scoring after the resumption. Castlemagner found their range soon after and despite points from Ethan Hourigan (2), the home side lead 0-05 to 4-08, with ten minutes remaining. Late scores from TJ Bodie (2) and Kevin O’Connor completed Newmarket’s tally, with the hosts winning out 0-08 to 4-11.
