Intermediates take on Naomh Abán in County

Wednesday, October 27th, 2021
The Newmarket intermediate footballers head to Millstreet this coming Saturday, to take on Naomh Abán, in the Bon Secours Premier Intermediate Football Championship quarter final. With both teams looking to gain a semi final spot, the contest gets underway at 2pm. Best of luck to the team and their mentors. Áth Trasna Abú!

Under 17s narrowly lose out

Commiserations to the Newmarket Under 17 hurlers who lost out to  Liscarroll/Churchtown Gaels in the U17 Division 2 Championship Hurling Cup Final, on Saturday last, the 23rd of October. Newmarket had lead 1-08 to 1-02, at the break, but in tough conditions, they lost out 2-10 to 2-12 on the day. Congratulations to Liscarroll/Churchtown Gaels on their victory.

Robert Emmets beaten by champions

Wednesday, October 27th, 2021
The Newmarket and Lismire combination, Robert Emmets, lost out to St. Peters at the semi final stage of the Central Sports Duhallow 21A football championship, on Monday night last, the 18th of October. Trailing by three points at half time, 1-06 to 1-09, a strong second half by St. Peters, saw them win out 2-10 to 2-18.
 
St. Peter’s went on to clinch the title against Kanturk a week later, in an exciting final played in Newmarket, 3-09 to 1-13 after extra time. Congratulations to St. Peter’s on their victory.

Footballers beat the odds to make quarter final

Wednesday, October 27th, 2021

Coming into their game against Castletownbere on Saturday night last, the 16th of October, Newmarket sat bottom of Group C of the Premier Intermediate Championship, with one point after two games. While in an unenviable position, with no team were guaranteed qualification, Newmarket knew victory opened the door to a potential quarter final place.

Hurlers bow out of the Championship

Newmarket and Millstreet travelled to Meelin on Sunday last, the 10th of October, with a place in the E Tarrant and Son’s Junior A Duhallow Final at stake.

Na Piarsaigh get the better of Newmarket

Monday, October 11th, 2021

The Newmarket footballers must take on Castletownbere in a do or die clash, in the final group game of the Premier Intermediate Football Championship, knowing a win is a must and even a victory may not guarantee progress to the knockout stages. The team find themselves in this position following defeat to Na Piarsaigh on Saturday last, the 25th of September.
