Robert Emmets and Sliabh Luachra Gaels played out an entertaining draw on Monday evening, the 16th of August, in the first round of the Duhallow U21 football championship.

The Newmarket Lismire combination held a 1-02 to 0-02 lead at the first water-break, with Dylan Reidy netting the goal. The side maintained the upper hand at the half, up 1-06 to 0-05. Sliabh Luachra Gaels had the better of the third quarter, scoring six points without reply. Unnerved, Robert Emmets dug deep in the last fifteen minutes and the contest finished up all square, 1-11 for Emmets, 0-14 for the Ballydesmond Kiskeam outfit. Emmets now take on Boherbue in the next stage of the round robin phase.
