Castlemagner hosted the Newmarket hurlers on Sunday morning, the 11th of July, in round 3 of the Twohig’s Duhallow Junior A hurling league.

Four first half points from Gavin Forde, along with 1-02 from the hurley of Darren O’Keeffe, ensured Newmarket controlled much of the opening period. Paudie Allen, Cathal Browne and Daniel Norton also registered scores, giving their side a strong 1-09 to 0-05 half time lead.

Newmarket maintained their advantage after the break with a further scores from Forde, added to points from Alan Ryan, Darren O’Keeffe, Cathal Browne and Peter Goggin. In a repeat of his feat a few days earlier against Meelin, Robert Stack came off the bench to raise the green flag for his side, who ran out comfortable winners, 2-17 to 1-07.
