Senior Experience Shows As The Haven See Off Newmarket

Castlehaven showed there senior experience with a 4-13 to 0-14 point victory over Newmarket in the Division 2 football league. The game was played Sunday June 10th in Newmarket.

Newmarket got the games opening score with a Culloty free. Castlehaven kicked the next three scores before they rattled the Newmarket net twice in quick succession racing into a ten point lead after 22 miniutes. Newmarket continued to show fight and scores from Culloty, Browne, O’Sullivan & O’Keeffe reduced Castlehavens lead to 6 at the break as the scoreboard showed Castlehaven 2-06 V Newmarket 0-06.

Within Minutes of the second half beginning the Haven once again had the ball in the back of the Newmarket net. The teams continued to exchange scores with the Newmarket scores coming from Charlie, Culloty & Bodie, however, with minutes remaining the away side were awarded a penalty and it was coolly dispatched to the Newmarket net. The home side continued to battle and kicked three late points with Bodie kicking two and a Bart Daly 45. The final whistle was blown and the Scoreboard showed Newmarket 0-14 V Castlehaven 4-13.
