Newmarket progressed to the Duhallow Junior A league final with a comfortable win over Freemount.

Freemount started this encounter much brighter and let 1-3 to 0-2 after 15 minutes with Donal Hannon on target from placed balls. Another Freemount point was closely followed by Barry O’Connor white flag. Newmarket registered their first goal in the 19th minute when a sweeping delivery found Conor O’Keeffe who took on his man and laid a lovely delivery into the path of Mike Kenneally who finished to the back of the net. Again both teams traded points with Colin O’Sullivan, Kevin O’Sullivan, and Donal Hannon on target. A minute before half time  another long delivery found Conor O’Keeffe who this time took the shot on himself and buried a goal. The scoreline at half time read Newmarket 2-07 Freemount 1-08.
Newmarket started the second half where they left the first with six unanswered points from Hannon (5) and O’Keeffe, Freemount point sandwiched two Hannon frees.  A further score from Gavin Forde and a Goal from Jamie Hayes at the death ensured Newmarket ran out comfortable winners on a scoreline of 3-16 to 1-12.
