Newmarket’s junior hurlers got their league campaign off to an ideal start with a big home victory over Dromtariffe by 4-16 to 0-12 at Newmarket on Sunday afternoon. A three goal salvo in a four minute second half spell decisive to paving the way for victory.
The intermediate footballers travelled to Bantry on Sunday afternoon and ended up on the wrong side of a three point defeat, 2-8 to 0-11 having trailed at half time by 2-2 to 0-5.
Despite the benefit of two early first half goals, Newmarket went down to defeat by four points, 1-11 to 2-4 against Clyda Rovers in a Division 2 Football League encounter played at Mourne Abbey on Tuesday night.
