Boxing Fundraiser
A huge crowd flocked to Safari’s Nightclub on Friday night to attend an evening of boxing, the joint fundraising venture of Newmarket and Meelin GAA Club’s.
A total of seventeen bouts took place as thirty two boxers representing both clubs displayed their talents following a gruelling seven week training schedule under the guidance of the expertise provided by coaches from Kilmallock boxing club.
Newmarket GAA club are indebted and extremely grateful to numerous people for making the event and the occasion itself a fantastic success.
The ultimate accolade goes to all participating boxers, all of whom made the huge sacrifice required and put their bodies on the line while also generating funds for their clubs.
All sponsors who contributed so generously and individuals who purchased tickets in support of the fundraiser, the response and support was really fantastic. Individuals from both clubs who worked together and put in a major effort over the last few months both in the build up and on the night itself.
Thanks to Jim Walsh and his coaches for their expertise and commitment over the last seven weeks. Anybody who helped in anyway when approached, all of whom assisted in staging the event including several volunteers who kindly gave of their time.
Thanks to Meelin GAA Club for their cooperation, assistance and enthusiasm and for approaching Newmarket GAA Club and giving the club the opportunity to join in the novel venture.
Finally, one individual deserves special mention, for his phenomenal and incredible input over numerous months, every aspect and detail meticulously and expertly addressed professionally, special thanks and recognition to Timmie Brosnan.
