Newmarket and Meelin GAA Clubs are holding a joint fundraiser in the form of a boxing encounter: “Showdown of the County Champions” to be held in Safari’s Nite Club on Friday, February 22nd.

Preparations and training is gathering momentum as the big event approaches. All competitors are presently in advanced stages of twice weekly training sessions under the guidance of expert coaching from Kilmallock Boxing Club. Over thirty boxers have shown great commitment and dedication as they train together in a terrific atmosphere, in anticipation of their big night in the ring.

Both clubs would greatly appreciate support from the local parishes and are also seeking various forms of sponsorship which would be greatly appreciated.

A great nights entertainment is ensured as fifteen bouts between various individuals from both clubs is on the bill to be followed by a disco. Tickets are priced at €20 each and are now available to purchase.

Membership: Membership of the club is now due for renewal. The cost for 2013 is as follows: Players €50, Adults €30, Students €25.
