Kanturk had a clear victory over Newmarket by 2-14 to 0-8 in the opening round of the Duhallow under 21 hurling championship played in ideal conditions at Newmarket on Saturday evening.

Newmarket maintained their fine start to the minor football league with a second successive victory over Pobal Ui Chaoimh at Ballydesmond on Wednesday night by 3-10 to 1-7.
Newmarket’s intermediate football team suffered a narrow one point defeat in their second league outing of the season, an away contest in Kildorrery finishing 1-13 to 2-9 in favour of the home side.
Congratulations to Bart Daly who won a Sigerson Cup medal with U.C.C. in Dublin last weekend where he lined out in the half back line.
