Newmarket travelled to Banteer on Saturday evening to take on Lyre in the Ducon Cup and despite a good first half performance, Newmarket ended the hour on the receiving end of a heavy defeat, 0-18 to 0-4.
The Newmarket under 16 footballers recorded a big win away to Croke Rovers yesterday evening. After last weeks excellent result against Boherbue, the Newmarket boys lined out against Croke Rovers in Castlemagner on a perfect evening for football.

Defending champions Newmarket advanced to the semi final stages of the Duhallow under 21 football championship after claiming their second successive victory in the round robin series to duly finish top of their group, having travelled to Dromtariffe and defeated the home side by 0-12 to 1-3 on a fine Saturday afternoon.
Newmarket’s poor start to this year’s league campaign continued when they endured their third successive defeat, away to Macroom on St. Patrick’s morning by 0-13 to 0-7, despite a highly impressive first half display.
The club was saddened to hear the news that broke last Wednesday morning that the legendary Jimmy Cross, author of the History of Newmarket GAA had passed away.

Newmarket’s junior footballers recorded a fine win over Rockchapel in the Ducon Cup game played at Rockchapel on Saturday by 2-6 to 0-10.
Newmarket were defeated in their first outing of this years Division 3 Intermediate football league when they travelled to St. Michaels and were on the receiving end of a 0-12 to 0-9 scoreline.
