Win for Newmarket Representative

Congratulations to Newmarket player Denys O’Brien and the large Duhallow contingent involved in the Cork junior football team that claimed the All Ireland title by defeating Wexford in the final played on Friday evening last.

Junior hurlers defeated in epic replay

Newmarket’s junior hurlers suffered an agonising two point defeat in the replayed EPS Bison Duhallow junior championship game played on an exceptional Meelin pitch on Saturday evening last.

Newmarket under 21 footballers qualify for the County semi final

Newmarket’s under 21 footballers progressed to the County semi final when they defeated Glanmire in the replayed quarter final at Kildorrery on Sunday evening by 0-9 to 0-7 after a dour contest.

Junior footballers knocked out of championship

Newmarket bowed out of this years Boherbue Co-Op Duhallow Junior Football Championship when the holders Cullen inflicted defeat on them by 1-12 to 1-6 at Boherbue on Thursday evening.

Exciting game ends in a draw

Big weekend of championship action for Newmarket in Hurling and Football

The under 21 footballers are playing in the first round of the County under 21 football championship this Friday, the 13th of July, at 7:30pm against Glanmire in Kildorrery. Newmarket won the Duhallow championship after a Replay against Boherbue back in April.

The Junior hurlers are in championship action this Sunday, the 15th of July, at 1.45pm against Freemount in Meelin. The teams have already met in the league earlier in the year with Freemount coming out on top. The lads should be boosted by their last performance against Kilgarvan in the league.

Newmarket suffer narrow loss in the first round of Boherbue Co-Op Duhallow Junior Football Championship

Newmarket were narrowly defeated by Boherbue in the first round of this years Boherbue Co-Op Duhallow Junior Football Championship by 1-8 to 0-9 in a close contest, that went down to the wire, played in driving rain at Kiskeam on Tuesday evening last.

Junior football championship gets underway

The Boherbue Co-Op Duhallow junior A football championship gets underway this week starting with Newmarket playing Boherbue in Kiskeam this evening at 8pm. There is further action with Kanturk against Ballydesmond in Millstreet on Wednesday, Millstreet against Rockchapel in Newmarket on Thursday and finishing off with Kiskeam against Lyre in Dromtarriffe on Sunday.

Encouraging win for Junior hurlers

Our junior hurlers had an encouraging home win in the league on Tuesday last, June 26th. On a damp evening in the town park Newmarket won this high scoring game, 1-19 to 3-11.

Minor footballers win high scoring contest

Newmarket and Boherbue provided a pulsating minor football league game at Newmarket on Thursday evening when the home side emerged from a high scoring contest to claim their first league victory by 4-11 to 4-6.
