Mark Of Respect
As a mark of respect to the late Diarmuid O’Brien, all club activities for the past week were cancelled. These included all club teams training sessions, the under 21 football championship tie against Kiskeam and the premier intermediate football league game against Newcestown.
A huge guard of honour spanning the length of Scarteen Street was formed at the removal and also after the funeral, with the minor teams of the past few years of which Diarmuid was an integral mentor, to the fore of the proceedings. The Duhallow Board were present while the Cork County Board were represented by Chairman Mick Dolan.
Diarmuid will be sorely missed by all but he has left many cherished and pleasant memories that will never be forgotten.
