Kevin O’Sullivan pointed as the sides exchanged scores in a very closely and keenly fought contest. With the game entering the final minutes Nicky Flanagan struck two fine points to give Newmarket a four point lead. St Marks kept battling and had a third goal with the game coming to an end. However, there was still time to salvage a draw and it was only the brilliance of Newmarket goalkeeper John Ryan that kept their slender lead intact with a super last gasp save.
